Prior to joining VGI as its Vice President of Central US Operations, Dennis enjoyed a celebrated 22-year career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and also served as an assistant district attorney. As a Supervisory Special Agent, he was involved in an array of domestic and international investigations and security services for numerous corporations, law firms, & families.
Mr. Franks investigated matters involving fraud, theft of trade secrets and other proprietary information, violations of non-compete agreements, employee malfeasance, threat matters, & more. In addition to conducting investigations, Mr. Franks provided security services including security vulnerability risk assessments and providing personal security.
Mr. Franks has routinely provided security risk assessments and security consulting services for major international corporations, a hospital system, high profile public events, and high net worth families.
Mr. Franks has organized and led protection teams regarding Super Bowl LXI, corporate executives, ultra-high net worth families, movie production executives, and high-profile actors. As the head of the division’s Special Operations Group for the last seven years of his FBI career, Mr. Franks was in charge of conducting surveillance and intelligence operations regarding foreign and domestic terrorist groups and the threats they posed. As a Crisis Management Coordinator in the FBI, Mr. Franks’ duties included establishing and running crisis management operations and directing investigative assignments.
In the FBI, Mr. Franks was the recipient of 26 awards and commendations. In addition to specializing in organized crime and drug cartel investigations in the FBI, Mr. Franks served as a Crisis Management Coordinator, Undercover Program Coordinator, SWAT team member and Assistant Team Leader, firearms instructor, International Police Instructor and a Legal Advisor & also served as an instructor of organized crime investigations at the International Law Enforcement Academy, Bangkok, Thailand; at the FBI – Middle East Law Enforcement Academy, Dubai UAE; and a crisis management expert in Bucharest, Romania in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Defense.
