Before joining VGI as Vice President of East Coast Operations, Stephen Latalardo enjoyed a distinguished 30-year career with the New York City Police Department (NYPD). During his tenure as a Police Officer, primarily assigned to lower Manhattan, he was consistently called upon to manage the security of high-profile individuals.
After advancing to the rank of Sergeant and later to Detective Supervisor, Mr. Latalardo led numerous high-profile investigations, further refining his expertise in complex criminal cases.
Promoted to Lieutenant, Mr. Latalardo was assigned to the Strategic Response Group in Manhattan, where he was specifically selected to specialize in Executive Protection and Counterterrorism.
In collaboration with the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Bureau and Intelligence Division, he played an integral role in the planning and execution of security protocols for major events such as the United Nations General Assembly, the Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration, and multiple visits by Presidents and other world leaders.
Leveraging his extensive law enforcement training and leadership experience, Mr. Latalardo has seamlessly transitioned into the private sector. At VGI, he works closely with the firm’s high-profile clientele, traveling both nationally and internationally to assess and implement tailored security strategies that address their unique needs.
