Thomas brings decades of experience in criminal intelligence & investigations, cyber-crime, and secure communications to Viollis Group International where he leads the firm’s global cyber security operations.
His proven ability to find successful balance between government service and meeting the needs and wants of private clients continues to be a cornerstone to the firm’s success. His storied career began in law enforcement with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (CA), where he quickly became a specialist in large-scale investigations and computer forensics. Over time, he expanded his skills, becoming a national authority in electronic discovery, criminal forensics, data center management, and cybercrime prevention.
As Thomas navigated into the private sector, he co-founded Precision Discovery, a successful eDiscovery startup, where as Chief Operating Officer, he grew the company to a $24MM enterprise, managing 70 employees across various departments. His leadership in cybersecurity continued with the founding of MaiVERIC, a SaaS platform providing facial recognition technology to law enforcement agencies. With an in-depth understanding of privacy laws and compliance as well as code writing and the expanded use of surveillance algorithms, he played a crucial role in pioneering the safe and effective use of facial recognition technology, yielding significant success for public safety agencies.
In addition to his technical expertise, Thomas holds a CISSP certification and has been a trusted advisor to numerous organizations, including the Colorado Information Sharing Consortium (CISC), shaping policy on facial recognition. His track record in developing secure communication systems, managing complex investigations, and advising on cybersecurity strategies has created a flawless record of serving VGI clients, worldwide.
